Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (105-115°F)
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy.
Add remaining ingredients: Add the salt, flour, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
Let rise: Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape and bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Cool: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
