Ingredients:
For the Filling:
1 sheet puff pastry (or as needed)
Butter (for greasing)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp dried basil
300g minced meat (beef, chicken, or pork)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
100g grated cheese (such as mozzarella or cheddar)
1 bunch parsley, chopped
2 boiled eggs, chopped
For Assembly:
1 egg yolk (for brushing)
Sesame or black seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, melt a little butter and sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent.
Add the minced meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Season with dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well, then remove from heat.
Let the mixture cool slightly before mixing in the grated cheese, chopped parsley, and boiled eggs.
- Assemble the Pastries:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes (squares, rectangles, or circles).
Spoon a portion of the filling onto one half of each pastry piece, leaving space around the edges.
Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges together, sealing them with a fork or by pinching.
- Baking:
Place the pastries on the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops with egg yolk for a golden finish.
Optionally, sprinkle with sesame or black seeds.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
- Serving:
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm as a snack, appetizer, or main dish with a side salad or dipping sauce.
